Apple rolls - recipe (including photos)

Ingredients for the dough:
  • 250 grams of flour
  • 100 grams of butter at room temperature
  • 50 grams of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 packet o vanilla sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon with baking powder
  • salt

Ingredients for the filling:
  • 300 grams of grated apples (squeezed very well of their juice)
  • 40 grams of brown sugar
  • 40 grams of white sugar
  • 40 grams of butter

First make the filling:
Clean and grate the apples. Squeeze every drop of the juice from them and now the weight should be 300 grams.
Melt the butter and add both the white and the brown sugar.

Mix well until all the butter is incorporated in the sugar like in the photos.

Add the apples and let it simmer at slow fire for 10 minutes.

Now, make the dough:
Mix the egg with the sugar and the vanilla sugar for 3-4 minutes.

Add the salt and the flour (previously mixed with the baking powder) and mix.

Incorporate the butter and make a non-sticky dough.

Spread the dough on the table.

Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius.

Add the apples above half of the spread dough and then roll it.

Cut the big roll in small pieces of 2-3 cm and put it in the oven tray. Let it bake for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.

When ready spread some powdered sugar and serve it to your friends and family.

Enjoy!
